Neck Lift
Surgery
A Neck Lift, or platysmaplasty and even submental platysmaplasty, is
a surgery designed to reduce the loose look of sagging skin in the neck
area and under the jaw. Neck Lift plastic surgery can address problems
with the fat, muscle and skin of your neck and jaw line. A Neck Lift can
help correct a fleshy neck, "jowls", plastysma or neck "banding", or
that "turkey waddle".
The surgery of the neck is reached through incisions around the ears and
through tiny incisions under the chin. When there is a good deal of
extra skin, it needs to be removed as part of the lift. This placement
of the incisions permits hiding the scars behind the ears.
Typically, a neck lift surgery will last two to three hours. Of course,
if you are having a neck lift in conjunction with liposuction, brow
lift, or other surgeries, the time will vary accordingly. Your exact
procedure will depend on your desired results and your own personal
circumstances. In order to undergo neck lift surgery, you must be in
good general health, both physically and mentally.
